Should I just go for white with any colour suit?

A white handkerchief is the perfect match to a white shirt as both will bring out the colour and pattern of your tie to the maximum. Alternatively, match the colour of your handkerchief to a highlight colour in your shirt.

It is often thought the tie and handkerchief should match perfectly in colour. This is not the case. Slight shade differences make it look less contrived and out of a packaged set.

Are handkerchiefs that popular any more?
Sales of handkerchiefs for us have never been so good!
I would say hankies are a must nowadays for a perfect and elegant look. A basic principle as very well Anthony pointed out is to always match the colour of the hankie to a highlight colour in your shirt.
Why don't you sell them online Anthony?
We've been waiting on some new photography for the handkerchiefs but they should be available again on the website from tomorrow.
Thanks. That's a really useful tip.

And how do you put it in your pocket - MadMen style with a sharp edge, or a little unkempt?

I assume that's just a question of changing fashions? and right now it's probably best for a very narrow, thin line of hanky?
If its a Two or One Button suit with narrow lapel then definitley Mad Men style is required so sharp edge. If its a Three Button suit or wider lapel in a classic cut then best to go for the ruffled look.

In which circumstance would you wear it with a straight neat edge?

Hello,

It is for a more modern look I would say the straight edged handkerchief look is the best option. It has become a staple of the Mad Men culture. It says I'm a modern Sartorialist that isn't scared to acessorize but keeps the lines sharp and in keeping with a narrower lapel and slimmer cut suit.

Fold the white cotton handkerchief around a square cardboard that has been cut to the shape of the pocket. This stops it falling down.

Silk handkerchiefs are more often bunched in a classic rouching effect.

Best,

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

Many thanks for your response, I will keep this in mind when accesorizing with handkerchiefs.

Kind Regards
