My silk knot is coming apart. What should I do? Cut off the strands, try to reinsert the stands or just buy some new ones.
Hi,
You can actually cut off the ends if they begin to come out, do this by stretching the thread out as much as possible - cut at the base and the end will retract back into the knot. However, there is a danger that they will fall apart if they've already gone too far.
These knots don't last forever and should be replaced on a regular basis as they aren't too expensive - we currently have 48 pairs online, priced at £4.00 each. It’s always useful to look at the shirts in your wardrobe and then make your selection of silk knots accordingly. Or the other alternative is to buy some cufflinks, perhaps plain silver ovals as these are versatile and will go with most outfits.
