It was my first and is my favorite TM Lewin shirt.  I get compliments every time I wear it.  It has a wonderfully stiff collar, and I like the double buttons on the cuff.

I tried the the New England Button Down, but it was well...too casual.

This is a tricky one as we have been torn over the years between offering this formal button-down shirt in collar size options like our other formal shirts and offering the same button-down shirt range as a more casual shirt in Small/Medium/Large etc rather than specific collar sizes. At the moment, the latter option, which is the New England button-down shirt range you mentioned, sells really well for us, better than the collar size version, so we are sticking with that collection.

If we were to introduce the formal button-down collar shirt, it would probably only be in classic blue, pink and white pinpoint cotton as these our the bestselling fabrics. However, for this year we have planned in a bigger range of the New England button-down shirts in both cotton and linen. I hope that there are other formal shirts of ours that you enjoy wearing too - it's always good to hear what shirts customers particularly love. Thanks for your feedback!

I'm a fan of formal, fitted, button-collar shirts in pinpoint oxford. The three colours suggested would be a great start. Can we have an online petition?!

Aaaaarrrrhhhhhhh........What is going on?  My two favourite shirts at Lewin have been discontinued!  The Traveller Shirt and the Formal Button Down are no more.  The former was simply the most practical formal shirt I have ever had - it did nor crease, looked smart, coped well in hot climates but still had that.....Lewin feel.  The latter was a classic - good fabric, excellent cut and wore well with time.  Precise collar fitting and sleeve lengths also showed the Lewin attention to detail that is lacking in the New England.  We do not all have average arms or necks and you therefore have less to offer me which is a real shame.

The formal button down shirt is the absolute staple of my wardrobe. The new England shirts are great for smart casual events.

Please can we bring back the formal button down even if only in the colours suggested. At the moment I am just starting my search to find them elsewhere. I would hate to have to take my custom elsewhere!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I agree - wear these on trips to the US where they have less formal reuqirements, and would order a load of these in a flash...
