My Favourite Valentine's Day Flowers!

Hi, I’m Kate – I’m the Marketing Manager (Home Shopping) at T.M.Lewin – and this is my first blog!

Occasionally we work with third parties so we can provide our customers with special offers and promotions, I work frantically hard to get these deals into our customer emails – and I’m going to use this blog to make sure our community members hear about them too!

This Valentine’s Day Jane PackerT.M.Lewin has teamed up with Jane Packer to offer our online customers a generous 10% off any bouquets between 9th-12th February!

Jane Packer is internationally renowned for her design-focussed approach to floristry. She opened her own innovative flower store over twenty years ago in London's West End. Today, she has stores in the UK, New York, Tokyo and Seoul, as well as flower schools aimed at spreading her philosophy and design skills to flower lovers all over the world.

When Jane ventured into flower design in the 1980s, arrangements, she says, “were stiff and dull”. She explains “I was into fashion and design, and would scour the markets for anything that had character and shape: wild flowers, unusual textures, exotic foliage. I pushed the boundaries – and still try to today. It’s all about remaining fresh.” Image

To Jane, floristry is an art, like fashion or interior design, using textures, colours and shapes of flowers to bring out personality and style.

Not that her arrangements are ever forced, or over-fussy. “I’ve always tried to arrange flowers in a way that you see them growing in nature, rather than force them into formal arrangements,” she says. “My bouquets tend to be clustered in a way that you might see the flowers growing on a branch. A mirror of pared-down nature, if you like.”

Sweetheart FlowersWhen it comes to my Valentine’s Day, I don’t think Mr Postie will have too much of a heavy load this weekend!

So, if Mr Prince Charming should so happen to catch my eye on the tube or in a queue of the local supermarket my chosen bouquet would be the Sweetheart flowers because they are simply stunning!

Much love, Kate.
