Introducing: The Travel Suit

Introducing: The Travel Suit

The Travel Suit is a brand new addition to our tailoring range, it's lightweight, versatile, ideal for summer and perfect for business travel.

The travel suit is a suit with a twist. Literally. The travel cloth – the lightweight cloth used for its construction – consists of three yarns twisted incredibly tightly together, due to this tight twist the yarns decrease in diameter, creating a more open weave.

The Travel Suit is available in navy and grey.

The result of this open weave means that the suit instantly recovers when it’s crushed and, importantly, it allows the cloth to breathe. This means that it will feel cool against your skin, absorb excess moisture from body heat and keep the wearer cool. So this really is an ideal suit for travel - it's lightweight, you won't overheat in it and you can easily pack it away.

You’ll notice if you touch the suit that it feels very different in texture to the rest of our suiting range. This is because of the weave and the style, which is a traditional British piece of tailoring, as opposed to a smooth, high sheen Italian style. Additionally, each suit has been lightly pressed and then left in an open room with a steady amount of air flow – this gets the moisture back into the cloth and it maintains the natural elasticity and recovery properties of the wool.

The travel suit really will look as sharp at the end of the day as it did when you put it on in the morning!

I am very keen to order suit from TM Lewin but always hesitant becuase of size or fabric issue and then the cost of sending the suit back. I have been wearing TM Lewin Shirts for the last 15 years and have been ordering online or wold ask friends to pick up from Jermyn street store. Can't really go wrong with shirts. If I have the option of free return and refund of shipping cost atleast for the first suit order I would get started.

Hi HJ,

We offer free returns from the UK and US, where are you based? Unfortunately, due the the cost of couriers we are unable to extend our free returns policies beyond these countries.

Thanks,
Dan

I am based in Philippines and have been a customer of TM Lewin for over 15 years buying shirts and ties. I have been buying online shirts on several occassions but have never had the courage to buy a suit. Also looked to Suits at your store at Singapore Airport but they only carry shirts and not suits. I just need to be roped into buying TM Lewin suits once and then i can get the machine rolling. Also would appreciate your advice on buying TM Lewin Suits. 1. I like really comfortable and light fabric which is easy to wear in hot and humid climate. 2. I would appreciate if you could please give me some recommendations. 3. Also what exactly are Red Label suits, I see some of them say super 80's but I thought all your suit fabrics are Super 110's. So I am looking for suits which have a smooth finish. 4. What are travel suits like in terms of comfort? are they also super 110's? 5. Of the suits which are on the offering what would you recommend? looking for Navy (really dark navy as there could be several shades in that). Plain would be better. I apologize I have asked too many questions but your help would be very much appreciated. Thanks a million and your consideration on one off return would be very much appreciated. best regards, Hassan

Hi HJ,

Our suit most suitable for humid climates would be the Travel Suit, for the reasons listed above - namely that the open weave allows the cloth to breathe. This means that it will feel cool against your skin, absorb excess moisture from body heat and keep the wearer cool.

Are suit fabrics actually vary, our Red Label suits are Super 80's, but on our site most of the suits will be between Super 110's - 130's. The Travel Suit is Super 120's.

The Travel Suit is immensely comfortable and practical, and given the climate in which you work, I would suggest that this would be a perfect first T.M.Lewin suit for you.

Thanks,
Dan!
