Read moreClub and Regimental ties are very much a part of the history of T.M.Lewin that is still maintained today, we currently make ties for the Law Society and the Institute of Chartered Accountants as well as holding over 300 varities of Club, Regimental and School tie in the basement of our Jermyn Street store. It’s also worth mentioning that we made the ties for the Olympic bid team in Singapore when London won the right to stage the 2012 games.
We were recently asked to remake a tie for a member of ‘The Grapple Club’ that was originally made in 1957 (the year that I was born!).
The original tie was an unlined non-crease silk version which we updated to match the current specification of our ties, after Remembrance Sunday our customer was pleased enough to send this email:
“Dear Mr Burgess,
Thank you for the new version of the Grapple tie which is a splendid affair by comparison with the schoolboy version of 1957. I wore it with pride and satisfaction past the Cenotaph on Sunday…”
Here is a selection of the Club and Regimental ties that we have been asked to make recently:
Founded on the 2nd June 1825, the Law Society is the representative body for solicitors in England and Wales.
The ICAEW has more than 134,000 members and shapes opinion and understanding in the accountancy and finance profession.
The Ivy, the world famous restaurant, is located in the West End and has been open since 1917. This is being produced as a tie for their private members club, located directly above the restaurant.
Often referred to as the ‘Highland Gunners’, the 19 Regiment RA is the local Artillery Regiment of the Highland areas of Scotland, the Western Islands, the Shetland Islands and the Orkney Islands. This is a brand new design that we were asked to make for the Regiment to wear when being presented to the Queen at this year’s Braemar Games.
The history of the Brigade goes back to 1815, formally based in the Far East but now based in the UK, following the handover of Hong Kong.
