Hi im attending a work dinner dance at a hotel next month and plan on wearing my 3 piece black suit(it made of a shinny fabric). I also what to use my new collar bar which is a silver clip on one (the type you attach to collar not pin or crew)

think ill need a small  collar. What type of collar and colour shirt should i go with?

And what colour tie?

Hi Brendon,

I personally feel that you will need a pointed collar like the Duke of York style and you should certainly be wearing a white poplin shirt, with a narrow black tie, such as this one:
